Monday, Aug. 2: Trivia Club, 7 p.m. Bring snacks, trivia questions and $1 donations accepted toward registration fee for VBS’ 2011 Great Trivia Challenge Team.

Saturday, Aug. 7: Relationship Workshop, 3 p.m. Dr. Vondie Lozano’s popular workshop for singles, marrieds and people in relationships. $10 with pre-registration at www.vondiecounseling.com; $15 at the door.
Art Show Reception, 7:30 p.m.: Free opening reception for show featuring works from the Arts Academy.

Sunday, Aug. 8: Craft Circle, 2:30 p.m. Bring your craft supplies and conversation!

Wednesday, Aug. 11: New Moon Dicussion Group, 7 p.m. Phyllis Douglass heals with sound with quartz crystal bowls. Free, donations accepted. Learn more about Phyllis at www.phyllisdouglass.com.

Thursday, Aug. 12: General Book Club, 7 p.m. Discuss The Magicians by Lev Grossman.

Friday, Aug. 13: Power of Poetry, 7 p.m. Bring your own, bring your favorite poet’s works, or even lyrics from a rock song. Read aloud or just let the words wash over you!

Saturday, Aug. 14: Model Builder’s Extravaganza, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. See intricate models of Indy 500 race cars, airplanes, and meet the artists who made them. Free.

Thursday, Aug. 19: SciFi Book Club, 7 p.m. 7:30 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 20: Souvenir:  A Fantasia on the Life of Florence Foster Jenkins, Stephen Temperley’s play about a lady who became a legend for singing badly, really. Created by R. Saturday, Aug. 21: Book Signing, Dr. Carolyn Rowley, 2:30 p.m. Founder of the Cayenne Wellness Center (www.cayennewellness.com) discusses mental, physical, and spiritual health and balance.

Wednesday, Aug. 25: Environmental Roundtable, 7 p.m. The Glendora Community Conservancy presents Denise Kaisler, who will discuss astronomy.

Thursday, Aug. 26: Murder Mystery Book Club, 7 p.m. Discuss Alone With the Dead, by Robert Randisi.

Friday, Aug. 27: The Maltese Falcon, 7:30 p.m. The Route 66 Radio Theatre Players present a readers theater staging of Dashiell Hammett’s detective classic. $10. Staged also on Saturday, Aug. 28, 7:30 p.m.

Tuesday, Aug. 31: The Craft of Fiction Workshop. Drew Turner opens his six-week course, The Craft of Fiction. $10 per session. Learn more at http://www.snowppl.com/Craft_of_Fiction.html.
